See What You Did, Decaydance?

The general consensus I got from my post about Decaydance signing the Millionaires was that Gabe Saporta is to blame (correct me if I'm wrong).

Well, now there's hard evidence of the damage it's doing to our youth.

Now, I'm all for freedom of expression in fashion, music, etc etc etc.  But, let's be honest, some things are just more acceptable than others.

At the opening day of Warped Tour last Friday, I thought, 'Gee, wouldn't it be funny to rile people up by hating on BrokeNCyde and the Millionaires?' because nothing is funnier than when people get angry.

So armed with my camera, I thought I'd find some tool bags wearing the aforementioned bands' apparel... no such luck.  But what I saw was almost worse.

At the very end of the day, I happened to walk by The Millionaires' tent on my way back to see Bad Religion.  And much to my surprise, there was a long line, like really long line to of people to (I guess) see the Millionaires/get autographs.

Witness:

(above: beginning of the day)

The line goes on for a lot longer, but I couldn't get back that far/wasn't going to waste my time doing so.

And just so people don't think me intolerant of awful music, we all have guilty pleasure music we listen to.  That's ok, as long as you realize that supporting such artists does THIS

and THIS:

(the chick on the left is ok, but the right... Rainbow Brite mixed with The Millionaires, right?)

So, Gabe Saporta, Millionaires haters everywhere blame YOU.  Thanks a lot.

Right, so if you were one of the people in line to see the Millionaires and are brave enough to admit it, I'd love to hear your side of the story.

How could DecayDance do this. The first time I saw the millionares was on either FNMTV or TRL last summer on this unsigned artist contest thing. I thought they sucked. I mean music sucks nowadays. I mean, there is great music out there being made but no one every pays any attention to it anymore. Instead they waste there time with this. And yes I am pissed off at Gabe. (too bad he's irresistible)

okay yeah, that is really gross. but pls, they've had fans before & this business is about money. I don't see what the big deal is about. I don't like them, so I don't listen 2 their music. Just cut them out if u don't like them.

I'm being optimistic and thinking the long line was filled with people who only wanted to take pictures so they could make a poster that says "Warning: beware of their noise. Ears will bleed."
Gabe, Pete - You guys suck right now.

How much you wanna bet that all three of the Millionaires fucked Gabe?

I heard somewhere *cough*fbr_t*cough* that in an interview they said they aren't actually on the record label, only their EP was released on DecayDance, their actual CD (and "band") are on another label?? Or something like that... So they're not really on DecayDance... But they only started saying that recently, in the beginning they WERE signed to the label. Wonder what changed :-/ Maybe all the haters finally got to Pete and he realized what a mistake he was making...

I went to a show last May and they just happened to be opening... They're pretty dece. Their show was fun and they're really nice girls. I listen to their songs every now and then and think they're really attractive. But I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I, for one, think the millionaires deserve the fans they have.

gg for decaydance...

I'm not a fan of Gabe or that Cobra Starship band... never fully sat through one of their songs.

if you don't like the Millionaires, don't listen to them.
it is not that serious.
no need to say harsh things like "i hate gabe/pete for this."
that's just immature and ridiculous.

Just cut them out if u don't like them. There's something else that plays in as a factor - most kids see Decaydance/FBR as more than a label, it's like a whole brand, a family, a network. A band has come in that upsets that network. Think about it - you almost never hear anyone say "Oh, I just like FOB" it's usually "I like FOB, Panic, Cobra, GCH, ect" because they all run together in a pack. Now these girls are part of the pack. And it's sad. And disturbing. And fucked up. It's going to bother a lot of those die-hards that FOB sing about. It's already killing me.

Decaydance isn't just a label. It's a brand. Which is now about as appealing as dishwater.

I'm not really fussed with how someone chooses to dress. There are people with questionable wardrobe that don't listen to the Millionaires so I don't really see your point.

What I am annoyed with though is that anyone black, white, yellow, purple hair with lime stripes and neon tights, what the hell ever, is listening to and promoting this garbage.

All anyone ever argues about them is, "it's not supposed to be taken seriously", "it's supposed to be fun", "I like that you can dance to it". Seriously?

You think under age girls singing about blowing their money on drugs and alcohol and begging to get laid and being docile and submissive to whatever dude can buy them the most drinks is "fun"?

There are hundreds of other artist that actually have legit tunes that you can "dance and have fun" too. Go listen to them instead of promoting this revolting display of idiocy and attention whoring.

And Gabe saying that these girls are "empowering" in any way still ticks me off. There is nothing empowering about becoming "famous" doing nothing but pissing people off.

And no, pissing people off does not make them "punk rock". Punk rock pissed people off because it talked about legit issues. It brought awareness about important things to a generation that was seemingly unaware. Politics =/= Three girls "singing" about enjoying drugs, alcohol, sex and expensive clothing. They are appealing to nothing but their own vanity.

I still don't understand how people are dumb enough to like or fall into this bullshit.

LOL
people who listen to this crap are complete DOUCHEBAGS!
they think they are so cool and shit...yeah, us NORMAL people think they look like IDIOTS.
its like the 80's/Russel Brand or something threw up on them!! (hinting at the people in the last picture)
I don't agree with this music... I mean its just people singing/rapping/screaming over a track made up on a computer... sorry but anyone could do that. there's no talent needed with this stuff which proves that this stuff is shit
